There’s a lot going on here, so let’s get technical for a minute. One of the biggest concerns we hear as we grow is how can we keep data safe, while simultaneously facilitating positive scaling of student impact. Mechanisms need to be in place to prevent Personally Identifiable Information, or PII, from being shared (even accidentally). However, if these mechanisms are too cumbersome, the impact of the service takes a back seat.
For example, if EVERY student to employer interaction requires approval, the student application process becomes the opposite of what is was designed for - safely allowing all students to actively pursue real career opportunities. Instead, MajorClarity applied a heavy design-lens when rethinking student/employer connections to ensure product purpose was scalable and leading to maximum impact, rather than just checking a feature box.
MajorClarity has made protection of student information and design emphasis a top priority in in all efforts aimed at product growth, while also building products that catalyze impact (as opposed to impede it). Instead of putting the approval burden on staff or employers, we instead invested heavily in AI integration that automatically scrubs anything resembling PII (name, email, phone, etc.) from student cover letters and resumes in our employer product extension. If you want to learn more about any technical aspects of these processes, email the team via firstname.lastname@example.org
Being able to fulfill the needs of the students, educators, and school leaders whom we serve is our shared goal, company-wide. To do this effectively, we understand how critical it is to work closely with districts, listen carefully to feedback, and fine tune the user experience accordingly. Our partnerships with each district are what ultimately shape the decisions we make about this product - so thank YOU for helping us chart the course and moving us in the right direction.
At MajorClarity we do not merely want to be considered the best of the best. We want to be considered the only ones who do what we do.
Here’s our motivational quote of the month:
Speaking of motivation - the artwork used in the header image at the top of this blog post is titled Gold (2008) and is an original oil painting on 4x4 canvas by artist Rebecca Goldberg. Rebecca’s work is diverse in palette, style, and subject, and serves as a major source of inspiration for our team on a daily basis. Several of her works are on display throughout the MajorClarity office in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Check out some of her other pieces below, and contact the team for more information about the artist.
